FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
GENERAL QUESTIONS
What is WalkABit for?
Do I need to be present at the spot to earn?
Yes, we are using 3 factor authentication of your location, to ensure that you are at the spot (doesn’t matter if it’s a landmark or our partner offering cashback).
PLATFORM INTERFACE
There are too many pins on the map. What can be done to leave only those places on the map, that belong to some separate category?
Click top left corner of the app and the menu “Show categories” will appear. Tick only the categories you’d like to be shown on the map. The unmarked categories will be hidden.
Is there a list of places’ names anywhere in the app?
Yes, there are two tabs “Map view” and “List view” in WalkABit app. In the tab “List view” all the places are shown in the form of a list and are sorted by proximity to your current location. The tab “Map view” shows them as pins.
What does the number of kilometres on the left of the place mean?
It is the distance from your location to the place in straight line. To learn what’s the shortest walk to the destination, click on the chosen place and press “Show route”
What do the numbers on the right of the places in the tab “List view” mean?
They indicate the reward that you can get for visiting the landmark, or the percent of your spend that you will receive as a cashback for using the services.
LANDMARK REWARDS
How do I get a reward for visiting a landmark?
Choose a landmark either by clicking on a corresponding pin in the tab “Map view” or by choosing one of the landmarks from the list in the tab “List view”. Click “SHOW ROUTE” and you’ll see how to get to the site. Arrive at the place and press “Get Reward” that will appear automatically at the bottom of the screen. Answer the question and the reward will be credited to your in-app wallet.
Why don’t I see the button “Get Reward” for visiting a landmark?
You are not close enough to the landmark. Come closer to the pin on the map and “Get Reward” will appear at the bottom of the screen.
I’m at the location, I answered the question but nothing happened. What to do?
Check what error message you got in the app and act accordingly
- Nothing: Try again as GPS might have lost the connection.
- Wrong answer: Look around for the answer, it doesn’t match with the correct one (Letter size doesn’t matter). Check if you didn’t press space after the answer
If the problem still persists, just contact us on help@walkabit.app, describe the problem and location and we’ll solve it with you.
Can I get rewarded at the landmark with € or $?
At this point, you can only get landmark rewards in cryptocurrency (as opposed to cashback rewards which are currently only in €).
After earning exchange minimum, you can exchange any cryptocurrency into BTC, which can be exchanged into USD.
Some of the currencies have also pair with USD so you will be able to exchange it directly.
CASHBACK
What currency i will receive cashback in?
You will receive cashback in €.
We are working to implement possibility to choose cashback currency at each spot or globally for the whole app. Stay tuned…
How do I get cashback for using the services?
Choose the partner by clicking on a correspondent pin in the tab “Map view” or by choosing one of the options from the list in the tab “List view”. Click “SHOW ROUTE” and you’ll see how to get on site. Arrive at this place, make an order (if it is a restaurant/cafe), rent a bicycle, etc. pay for these services and tell the staff that you have WalkABit app. The staff will scan the QR code from your smartphone’s screen, put in the total number of your spend and the percent of that sum will be credited as cashback to your in-app wallet.
Staff doesn’t know what WalkABit is and they refuse to scan my phone. What to do?
Please leave your email address with the staff at partner’s location. Then please contact us on help@walkabit.app tell us which partner was that and send us a photo of the receipt, we will confirm cashback and allocate it to you manually after contacting the partner.

Please enter your full IBAN (including country code), SWIFT, Name and Surname
Withdrawing cryptocurrency:
Please remember to make sure to check your crypto wallet address. Unfortunately, we cannot retract the transaction that has been sent. If you paste wrong crypto wallet address, your funds will be lost and we will not be able to refund them
IMPORTANT NOTE
- There are minimum limits for withdrawal of each currency – to check the minimums, please visit What are the minimum withdrawal limits?
Why there are minimum limits for withdrawals for cryptocurrency?
It’s because we work with Bittrex cryptocurrency exchange platform. Their platform is responsible for all withdrawals and transactions of cryptocurrencies. Minimum limits are set by Bittrex and we don’t have impact on their level.
Why there are minimum limits for withdrawals for € or $?
For each bank transaction there is a fee that we need to pay. We don’t charge you for it, but we need to make sure that transactions are substantial.
Minimum limit for EUR withdrawal is 7€ and for USD it’s $7.50
What are the minimum withdrawal limits?
With every new currency added to our platform, we will be growing this list
EUR: 7€
USD: $7.50
BTC: 0.0002
DOGE: 505 DOGE
How long does it take to withdraw in-app money to my external account?
It all depends on the currency.
For cryptocurrencies:
It is instant and you just need to wait for the blockchain to process your request. There are slower and faster cryptocurrencies, therefore it might take from 1 minute up to 2 hours.
For EUR and USD:
At this early stage, we offer only one option – regular bank transfer that can take from 2-5 days to reach your account. We’re currently working on more withdrawal options. Our goal is to reduce the time to instant transfers and give our users multiple options.
Do I have to pay any fee on withdrawal or exchange?
We don’t take any fees, since we’re not the exchange. We use our exchange partner technology and there are transaction fees indeed, however for the first 2 months we are taking them on us.
EXCHANGING
How can I exchange currencies?
There is an option “EXCHANGE” in your in-app wallet. Each currency has 1 or more exchange pairs.
You will be able to exchange once you reach minimum exchange limit. Due to cryptocurrency exchange partner’s rules, we cannot change the minimum limits and they are defined by them.
What are the minimums for exchanging particular currencies?
With every new currency added to our platform, we will be growing this list
EUR: — exchange currently not available
USD – BTC: $1.40
BTC – USD: equal to $1.40
DOGE – BTC: 1351 DOGE
Do I have to pay any fee on withdrawal or exchange?
